Cambridge Revision Classes 2024

For the 14th year, the Association of Cambridge Schools in New Zealand is holding Cambridge Revision Classes during the third term holidays (29 September -11 October). More than 1200 students attended these classes last year.

Who teaches the classes?

All classes are run by experienced Cambridge teachers who are currently teaching their specialist subjects at Cambridge Schools in Auckland. Teachers have access to the most recent and also historic information on their subject as well as reports and data from Cambridge examiners.

Class Information:

  • offered at IGCSE, AS and A2 level
  • all classes cover the Extended Curriculum
  • the length of the classes are one to three days depending on the subject - please refer to the schedule(s) in the link below
  • held at Auckland Grammar School
  • 9.00am to 2.30pm each day
  • all registrations are made online at the link below
  • online payment when registering via credit card

Important Information for some classes:

English Literature

  • The English Literature Theory classes will cover essay planning and writing, exam technique and text analysis. These classes are for students studying other texts for which classes are not offered.
  • The one day text classes also include the theory that will be covered in the theory class.

Mathematics

The A2 Mathematics class covers Pure Mathematics and Mathematics with Statistics.

History

History topics taught at schools may differ. Topics covered in our revision classes are as follows:

IGCSE

Paper 1 and Paper 4 Depth Study:

  • Germany 1918-45

Paper 1 - Core Topics:

  • Was the Treaty of Versailles fair?
  • To what extent was the League of Nations a success?
  • How far was Hitler’s foreign policy to blame for the outbreak of war in Europe in 1939?

Paper 2 - Prescribed Topic:

  • Who was to blame for the Cold War?

AS Modern Europe 1750-1921

Paper 1:

  • The Industrial Revolution in Britain 1750-1850

Paper 2:

  • France 1774-1814
  • The Russian Revolution 1894-1921

A2

Paper 3:

  • The Holocaust

Paper 4:

  • Mussolini’s Italy 1919-1941
  • Hitler’s Germany 1929-1941
